How to connect a microphone from headphones in Windows?

Hello gentlemen. I recently assembled a new PC, but I didn’t think about the microphone. I have Sony headphones, there is a microphone (in the remote control), but Windows (10) does not see it, my ears have only one 3.5 jack. But in the "recording devices" - it's quiet. Can you please tell me how to use it? Or is it there for beauty? At the moment, there is no way to go for even the simplest micro. I thought to connect the micro using a smartphone over the network, they say the delays are the wildest. Another idea was to connect the EarPods and use their microphone - without success.

What is the headphone jack? If three-pin, then there is no microphone there. If 4-stroke, then this is a headset for laptops, in which the headphone output is combined with a microphone input, and also has 4 contacts. In order to connect such normally to a computer, you need a special splitter from a combo jack to two regular jacks.
Otherwise, you just have to cut the cable and reconnect the wires. The headphones can be turned off, and the microphone, on the contrary, can be turned on as if to a standard jack.

What didn't work for you with connecting AirPods? Have you tried to pair them when they are already connected to the phone?
The microphone in the headset is connected to the fourth pin of the connector. To use it somehow, you need an adapter from trrs to one trs for headphones and one ts for a microphone.
