How to connect a laptop to a monitor via HDMI-VGA (respectively)?

- a laptop with HDMI
- a monitor with busy DVI-D, but free VGA and DisplayPort.
How to connect?
The HDMI-DisplayPort variant broke off, as it turned out, due to its unidirectional nature.
Would an HDMI to VGA adapter work?
Or is it easier to buy a new monitor with HDMI and not worry?))

The HDMI -> VGA converter will be the most inexpensive and simple solution (200 rubles on aliexpress)
Is it possible to connect the second device that occupies the DVI-D port via VGA or DisplayPort? It may be possible to do without converters.
