How to connect 2009 macbook to tv?
I replaced an old Samsung TV set with a VGA input for a new UE43KU6400U, which only has HDMI. I tried to connect macbook in two ways:
1. Through the Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter + HDMI cable: there is an image, but there is no sound - the laptop is too old and does not support sound transmission through the mini display port.
2. Through Frankenstein Mini-DisplayPort - VGA + VGA cable + VGA - HDMI adapter: no picture or sound, although the corresponding HDMI icon on the TV screen is highlighted, as if the TV sees the connection. Games with resolution and changing the HDMI input did not help.
Neither method helped, unfortunately.
Is there a way, excluding changing the laptop?

find the previous generation Apple TV at the flea market, or Chromecast, and then www.airsquirrels.com/airparrot
,
well, as an option
if you really want to connect this particular laptop. although I would use HDMI resigned to the fact that there is no sound, attaching some kind of speaker thread to a 3.5 mm jack
