How to configure the ability to connect to several WiFi networks in windows7, provided that the networks do not distribute settings via DHCP?
I've come across a seemingly simple problem, but I can't seem to find a solution.
There is a laptop with WiFi support.
There is an access point that does not distribute network settings via DHCP. To connect to it on the connecting device, you need to manually set the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS server.
On the phone (on IOS and on Android), this is done elementarily. Each network has its own settings.
On Windows 7 I can't find individual settings for each Wifi network.
On windows 7, I can connect to a Wifi network, provided that I fill in the static IP address and other settings in the TCP settings of the wireless adapter. The problem is that these settings are immediately valid for all Wifi networks. That is, if I switch to another Wifi network with this laptop (for example, to a network that automatically distributes settings), then the laptop connects to the new network, but the IP address remains the same as static for the previous network.
Those. if all wifi networks distribute addresses automatically, then you never encounter such a problem. But if at least one wifi network requires manual setting of the IP address, etc., then Windows 7 does not offer a convenient solution for saving IP address settings for several networks. Did I search badly or is there no such feature in Windows?
