How to configure compression on VPS yourself?

Hello community!
I use VPS-2 on reg.ru. Google PageSpeed swears that the site does not have gzip compression. I can’t find anything suitable in Google, since all my skills in working with servers end with commands apt-get installand apt-get update.
Can you please chew on what and how to press X to win?
Thanks to!

Google determines that pages are transmitted without compression.
To enable it, you can use various options:
If you use only Apache then mod_deflate. The process is described here
. If using Nginx, then as indicated in the previous answer.
