How to completely zero the li-ion battery in a physical way?

Such a problem. It is necessary to put a battery with a capacity of 1420 mAh to full 0. I KNOW THAT IT IS HARMFUL (for smart ones) I
was already at -10 and for 10 minutes at -20, but nothing helps. Iphone 4 battery needs to be discharged so that even the display cannot power it. Friends, who knows - please help, and good advice would not hurt either))

If the battery is in the phone, then it remains only to keep it in the cold for a long time, not minutes, but tens of hours (in a package with a desiccant, otherwise the condensate can ruin the rest of the inside of the phone), or try to turn it on again and again until it stops turning on.
If the battery is removed from the phone (there is an instruction on iFixit), then you can connect some relatively low-power consumer of electricity to the battery, for example, an LED.
Discharging the battery completely "to zero" without opening its plastic shell will not work in any case, since the battery has a built-in overdischarge protection circuit. You can discharge only to the point where this circuit enters the protection mode and blocks the battery output.

Modernized batteries are not just batteries and electrodes, they are also a control circuit between them.
accordingly, there is no way to do this, even if you remove the battery and short-circuit the contacts.
The only option is self-discharge (leakage current) - Wait a very long time! The process is exponential!
And chemical energy has inertia in time. And even directly shorted contacts do not guarantee that after some time the voltage will not appear again (small of course)
