When I need to remove something completely (and such a need happens quite often), I, of course, do not use the standard Windows remover - it leaves too much uncleaned. I use special uninstall utilities - specifically, Your Uninstaller! 2010 or Geek Uninstaller. Both of them are able to clean up those remnants of the removed software that he missed behind the Windows one, and the first one can do a lot more, and I recommend it. But the second one is free.
By the way, about Chrome - do not neglect deleting settings, history and other purely user-friendly near-Chrome junk, and manually viewing the location will not hurt ...
