How to compile android apps from source?

Hello, in my spare time I am translating applications for android, and I have a question, before transferring all my changes to the main github branch of the project, I would like to collect the applications that I translate, but only the source is stored in the repository, and I can’t imagine , how to build sources of the Android.mk view.
Please tell me how best to do this in order to check your translation before the pool in the repository.

Install eclipse with android SDK and compile.

Eclipse has nothing to do with it! install NDK!
