Installed at home 8 PC i7, 64GB. PCs collect information from the Internet. Each PC runs software that runs in 60 threads. In practice, this is 500 office employees who simultaneously and non-stop surf the web. In the resource panel, you can see that the exchange of information on each PC occurs at a speed of about 5-10 mbps.
With an increase in the number of streams, problems with the Internet begin - pages do not open, files from FTP cannot be downloaded, etc.
The connection diagram is as follows: the Internet cable goes into the TP Link router from Rostelecom. Two cheap switches are connected to the router: TP Link TL SF1008D. And all PCs are connected to these switches.
I assume that either the switcher or the router simply does not have time to process all the packets. Given the large amount of work with FTP, where the number of packets is one and a half times more than HTTP. Perhaps something simply does not reach, is lost in the queue.
Help me understand what needs to be replaced: a router or a switch (switcher)? I also ask you to help me choose the right and right version of the equipment.

On SF1008D check heating. The body is plastic and does not dissipate heat very well. Loses packets when overheated. How are you in general. It is necessary to cool and / or change to a device with a metal case.
With a router from the provider, the same thing - cool / change.
Usually multi-threaded ftp does not load mpps, but inflates the routing / nat / masquerade table very much. If it does not fit in the router's memory, there will be failures in connections.
Although the channel width, of course, check first.
Cheap routers do not hold a large number of simultaneous connections well
(NAT on the router does not cope, you need to look at /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_max)
as an option, abandon the TP Link router (or switch to bridge mode) and set up a software NAT or proxy server
you can reduce the number of connections by reducing DNS queries - raise a caching DNS on one of the local machines
