How to combine multiple ssl certificates?

There is a site with a name like firma.ru and it also has a name like mail.otdel.firma.ru.
Is it possible to get two different SSL certificates for the specified domain names and then combine them into one (similar to combining certificates in a chain of trust)?
What other options are there besides SAN and changing dns names and using two different certificates separately?

Do you want one certificate to certify both firma.ru and mail.otdel.firma.ru? SAN only.

It is possible to take separate ssl certificate for two domain names with single domain ssl certificate .
But still you can't merge them into one.
Two different ssl certificates will increase certificate management time. Thus multi domain ssl certificate is the best if requirement to secure multiple domains with a single ssl certificate.
