How to clear the Firefox address bar?

Good day, I have such a problem: all the browsers that I use have memory leaks, i.e. Opera eats 1.5gb after 2 days, chrome is better, and to my surprise, the most buggy browser in the past, which I always despised - Firefox uses only 1 process and does not suffer from such a problem. There is one global BUT, in Firefox, when opening a new tab, the entire text of the address bar is not selected, the cursor just stands after the last letter. How to fix it? Sorry for flooding the toaster with these questions, it's just really annoying.

Something not clear question. After opening a new tab, the cursor is after the text " Enter a search term or address "? Then this is a clear glitch and is treated, I think, by reinstalling the browser.
In general, Ctrl + L moves the cursor to the address bar and selects all the text in it. Ctrl + K moves the cursor to the search box, well, Ctrl + T opens a new tab

Open about:config (in the address bar), look for browser.newtab.url and delete the value. Thanks @bob_smith !
