How to classify knowledge?

I took a course from htmlacademy, now for the sake of practice I make up easy layouts.
But there is a feeling that I have porridge in my head.
How to put things in order in your head and put everything on the shelves?

This is fine. Now there should be porridge. It is cured by practice.

You need to understand the stage-by-stage evolution of the layout: from a completely white window with one area (html, body) to a completely laid-out layout.
That is, the transition from the largest areas to smaller details (OOP):
1. First - the correct positioning, size, scaling.
2. Then - gaps and design (shadows, rounding, distortion, etc.)..

Did you take notes during the course?
Having your own summary helps a lot with the absence of porridge in any area studied or when reading a specialized book.
Of course, the abstract must be in electronic form, in any system for storing records (for example, onenote, evernote, google keep, etc).

To delve into one and the same and broaden one's horizons several times.
Personally, I always and now have 29 tabs open with various questions, a tutorial, examples, and this is how I put everything in order.
