How to choose the right server configuration 1s?
The configuration Management of the Pharmacy Chain.Network is being implemented.
4 territorially divided offices are connected. The number of users in the database is a maximum of 10-15 (I take with a margin) people at the same time plus about 20 cashier jobs that will be exchanged with the server via WS connections.
Currently running on Core i5 8Gb RAM 1000HDD. Everything is very slow. The time of posting the document receipt of goods is about 1-2 minutes. Depending on the number of goods in the PM document.
I understand that you can buy a server with a margin of 200-300k and everything will fly. But I would like to do it as optimally as possible, since there is no normal server cabinet where the temperature regime would be observed. Yes, and I wanted to first show the viability of the Configuration and only then demand budgets.
Look at the price tags on the servers for my requests, and this is about 300k and above, I began to look closely in the direction of renting a dedicated server.
So far, I paid attention to the fastvps model px-60 and the notorious Russian company 1cloud .
In the first case, you rent real hardware. The price of the issue together with a license for WINDOWS SERVER 2012 is about 100 euros per month. I would bet on Linux with great pleasure, but there is no magic for it.
In the second case, as far as I understand, we are talking about virtual machines with all their charms and shortcomings.
In general, something like this. In the case of a client-server version and a DBMS installation, is it possible to install 1c server and DBMS on the same server. If not, why not?

As I understand it, now there is a file version that slows down and you are looking for ways to either minimize the brakes, or install a client-server version.
In my experience, trading configurations in the file version, starting from the first ten users, are godlessly slow. Unlike the use of a DBMS, where locks are imposed by dimensions (and in general, writing and reading are an order of magnitude faster), in the file version, the entire table is locked, which leads to queues of transactions among users up to deadlocks (if the conf is crookedly designed). The fact that you are going to immediately raise a web server and give access to the file base additionally through web services only aggravates the situation.
What can be done? You were right about SSD drives. Also, even before their appearance on implementations, RAM disks were popular when the file base was reflected in the RAM. The latter method is very fast, but in the event of a power outage, everyone is in for a big ass.
But the power of the server for file balls with access via VPN is the tenth thing, unless of course you have a terminal server (that's all the power is spent on servicing terminal sessions, 1C is no way here at all).
You have a small company with a small number of users. Installing a 1C server and a DBMS on one physical computer (it is possible even on one virtual machine if hardware support for virtualization is used) is the best option. The number of operations is not very large, so that the servers would begin to compete with each other for system resources + the speed of interaction between them is almost instantaneous, unlike the option of various hosts (although you won’t feel this slowdown even with a small load).
