How to choose raid?

Soon I'm going to buy a server, it will have 4 hdd x 1TV hoster offers

RAID Adaptec 3405 128Mb Cache
Hardware Raid Level: 0/1/1E/5/5EE/6/10

OS debian 7 this server will be used for sites with different loads.
Who will tell you which of these and how to choose? Where and what can you read about it?
And how can you monitor the health of the RAID? Man'y what it is possible to esteem?

What you are offered is outdated and out of production
. I myself use LSI 9260-4i with BBU + Intel expander
.

raid 10 only
checked. 4 disks raid 5 against raid 10 lose 4 times.
