How to choose autoload Linux in the presence of two operating systems?
Good day. I installed Linux as a second OS, next to Windows 8.
But when the laptop is loaded, the choice between the two OS does not pop up.
Windows 8 is loaded automatically.
If you did not have time to click Fn + F12 when you turn on the laptop - that's it. Wait for Windows to load and then reboot.
What are the options for why?

Quite an interesting question, because mint should have automatically put you another bootloader - GRUB 2 and put it at the top of the boot list. Windows 8 is installed only in UEFI mode - which means there is an EFI partition on the disk. First check from Mint if GRUB is installed on this partition, and also check if the Fastboot flag is set in Windows. Also check what boots first: Windows boot manager or GRUB. It is also possible that Secure Boot included in the BIOS somehow interferes
