How to choose an SSD for a laptop?
Available:
Old laptop 2013. HP ProBook 4540s with a dead HDD. They advised to install an SSD for comfortable work with modern software (Win10, Adobe, Visual Studio).
Hence the question : how to choose an SSD? By what criteria? Are there different compatibility (any SSD will fit my laptop or do I have to google compatibility?). Can you put an SSD and HDD in a laptop at the same time?
Interested in volume ~ 100GB.

how to choose an SSD? By what criteria? Are there different compatibilityAny 2.5" SATA SSD will work.
Can you put an SSD and HDD in a laptop at the same time?We need such a container to be installed instead of a DVD drive.
Interested in volume ~ 100GB.If you leave the HDD, you can take 120GB disks, if there is no HDD, 240GB is better.
how to choose an SSD? By what criteria? You need a 2.5" SATA SSD, manufacturers don't care, because they do everything quite reliably. look at the volume / price.
Are there different compatibility (any SSD is suitable for my laptop or do I need to google compatibility?Any in the 2.5" format will stand in place of the HDD, the connectors and the place in the laptop are standard.
Can you put an SSD and HDD in a laptop at the same time?Perhaps HP makes a special frame for laptops where a disk is inserted (better than an HDD, because theoretically there is less speed), which is installed instead of an optical drive.
I will add that although 2.5 "SSDs are now mostly 7 mm thick, there are 10 mm models (there are even 15 mm ones). Such models may not fit into some laptops.
In general, I made my instructions for installing an SSD in Lenovo laptops without removing the native HDD. And I recorded a video about installing an SSD-shnik, I just have a Lenovo laptop. This method can also work with laptops from other manufacturers, the method is the same. Go ahead!) In Word and PDF, I threw it off (so as not to throw it on dubious file hosting services) to Yandex disk https://yadi.sk/d/XZt_fK-S0xxtUw and to the Mail.ru cloud https://cloud.mail.ru/public /5ivL/HXAqNvCX7
