How to check the responsiveness of the router?

My smartphone periodically freezes in the Google Play application, and in other applications. The TV box is also not very responsive over Wi-Fi. There is every reason to suspect the router of inhospitality... How to find out how quickly the router gives Internet access to connected devices? How to understand the normal state of the router? How to determine whether the router is to blame or the provider? I have a Netgear N300.

You can determine the losses on a specific node using the mtr utility under Linux, or winmtr under Windows. This utility pings all nodes along the path to the given one, and shows which one is losing. At the time of the network shutdown, you can see where your packets are lost. If it's on the router, it's most likely his fault. If outside or nowhere, then the router has nothing to do with it.
Yes, it’s still worth checking the channels being occupied by neighbors, and switching to a free one, far from the most powerful neighboring networks.

If possible, fuss with the "neighbor" router and connect it instead of your own. In order not to guess thoughts, but to begin to act by the method of elimination. If everything goes well with the other router, then understand your own (settings, firmware, etc.), if so, then most likely your devices are to blame.
