How to change ubuntu app icon?

Just moved to ubuntu, decided to install the discord app (via Software Install). Everything works, but for some reason instead of a normal icon I have a gear, apparently for some reason he did not find it. I tried to open all this in a text editor and instead of Icon=discord write Icon=~/Downloads/discord-0.0.13/Discord/discord.png (the full path to the icon file), but nothing happened. Thanks in advance.

Try replacing the tilde ~with /home/user.
