I wanted to put a stub for a while, that is, when you go to the site, the picture "The site is temporarily down" appears. Yes, it is safer to make changes to .htaccess in the root directory of the site with a redirect of all users, except for you, to some page. Better separate on html.

What htaccess? Just change the home page template to a splash screen and turn off the rest of the pages for a while. Do you have MODX?
