How to change the appearance of the main page in webasyst without affecting other sections?

I added my code to the index file, now this code is displayed in the articles , gallery and a few more categories, but in the catalog, for example, everything is fine. I suspect that some kind of "template" is being used that borrows code from index, but I don't quite understand the whole picture.
Can you tell me how to display a separate file / page instead of an index page
ps I am only familiar with wp templating, I encountered webasyst for the first time.

index.html is the base template.
home.html is the main page.
In order for home.html to be displayed (connected inside the base template), you need to add {$content} inside index.html, in the content part of the page.
webasyst uses the smarty template engine
