How to change network interface name in android?

The current interface name is ra0 and needs to be changed to wlan0. Android stubbornly refuses to work with anything that is not called wlan0 or eth0.
If you can't change the name, is there a way to configure android to work with ra0? Changed settings in wpa_supplicant.conf and dhcpcd.conf, didn't help.

ip link set dev ra0 name wlan0
