How to calculate the braking resistor for an asynchronous 3-phase motor?

I do engine control based on the MC3PHAC controller, the engine acts as a pump, drives water through the pipes in the boiler room, power is 4 K watts. How to calculate the brake resistor for the motor, the power part of the motor control on IR2130 + powerful IGBT transistors.

Is braking a must? Can he somehow spend on friction?
I would like a complete connection to the network, and the type of motor, phase rotor, no? From the motor control circuit I found , it's not entirely clear where you are going to connect the braking resistor.
In theory, it is enough just to make a "opposition" so that the field spins in the opposite direction and the engine stops.
For detailed answers, you need an electrical circuit for turning on the engine with all control elements.
Do you have any recommendations for braking your engine? Because the choice of the electrical circuit depends on the power part of the control in the second place, and on the microcontroller in the third place. And you kept silent about the most important information (scheme, type and model of the engine).

I have never seen a brake pump. Maybe it makes sense to just give it up? I doubt that the inertia of the pump will have a noticeable effect on the entire system as a whole.
