How to cache MS SQL

Good day!

There is a website running on several WEB servers and hosted on a separate MS SQL server. Rested on the performance of the database. For a number of reasons, I do not want to distribute the database to several servers, but to cache requests. I am ready to allocate a separate server for this, but I want to do without global editing of the code - ideally, just specify the caching server as a DBMS and that's it. No matter how much I googled, I did not find anything suitable. Prompt, please, where to dig. The OS on the caching server is not important - it is ready to install Win, * nix, BSD - the main thing is that the solution is friendly with MSSQL (it was a layer between ASP and MSSQL) and worked as fast as possible. Paid / free is an important, but not defining argument.

I advise you to find a specialist in MS SQL and figure out what exactly you have come up against. I am 80% sure that the problem is solved on the current hardware or with a slight upgrade. Usually, the possibilities for optimizing the database and the application are very large for the first attempt.

If the fate of Odnoklassniki does not befall you, then it is easier to start not with caching, but with migration to some PgSQL or MySQL. Try the same MySQL, read the MySQL blog on Facebook, set it up and you will no longer have to fence the server for $2k of shit and sticks.

Something tells me that you can't do without editing the code, although I could be wrong =)
