How to buy custom software development?
I recently came up with a program that should analyze incoming traffic to the client of some online toy, keep a log and allow the user to generate short reports.
I myself am from the detachment of php-coders and such matters as the development of “full-fledged” software are beyond my power, and therefore I decided that for the first time I myself need someone's services.
And so a number of questions arose:
1. how does it all happen?
2. where to look for a contractor, so that it is inexpensive, and even better for a share in potential profits.
3. Is it enough for the performer to get screenshots of… um… program window states with a textual description of the behavior and interconnection of elements?
4. How to ensure the commercial security of the venture? (after all, by sharing a detailed technical specification, I risk not getting a program, but getting a competitor)
5. Am I paranoid?

5) Yes, I'm paranoid
4) I don't see a coin profit from the program that sniffs game traffic, maybe I didn't understand the point?
3) Yes, enough to start. Then you need to meet and discuss the nuances. TOR is never exhaustive.
Isn't it easier to write an aggregator server that will collect statistics? In general, the program can be written independently, if you are not afraid of course. And about the "commercial success" - a very dubious idea, competitors (maybe in a slightly different form) and so abound.
1) Depends on the budget
2) Then, in addition to the TK, a business plan is also needed. Not in words to talk about bright prospects.
3) To begin with, it is enough to understand whether it is worth contacting you at all and helping to make a real TK.
Most developers of developers work only on TK - this helps a lot when working with dibil clients.
4) Communicate with reputable offices that value their reputation, especially since they have enough ideas and projects of their own. But this is not consistent with paragraph 2. This is not cheap.
5) At this stage, yes :) After all, it seems to you that 95% is the idea itself, and the implementation and other stages are already trifles.
If we are talking about a web-based online browser toy, then it is enough to turn the traffic from it to your proxy and parse it in your favorite php.
If we are talking about something like a ruler / wow and other things, then point 4 is dangerous primarily because the owners of this toy can present, especially if the traffic is not in the clear and reverse engineering will be needed.
You don't have to look for a share. Because there is no need to look for an investor and a programmer in a freelancer. If the idea is worthwhile, find an investor separately.
Screenshots of program states for analyzing traffic capture will obviously not be enough, of course. Here, let's send you our screen now - will you understand a lot about our traffic? :) Search
for a freelance contractor, judging by the statement of the problem, you will not look for companies that are not represented on freelance.
