How to buy a domain permanently?

All providers offer a tariff for a maximum of 5 years, how can one permanently "score" a domain behind oneself?

No way.
A domain name cannot be redeemed . No, you can create a new TLD and pay a fee to ICANN - and hand out names yourself - but I don't think this is your case :)
But you can't, because a domain name is not a product , but a service . It is rented out for a fixed period. Auto-renewal occurs automatically (usually), so in order not to worry about the ownership of the name, it is enough to deposit many, many money on the account with the registrar - and it will be automatically renewed.

So in general, the system of renting domain names operates in the world, and this is good. Otherwise, people would buy domains forever, die and the domains would never be released.

ICANN documentation
domain names can be registered or renewed for a period of 1-10 years and no
domain shall extend beyond 10 years in the future to"expire.

Therefore, only with the help of auto-renewal (auto-renewal)

A domain is a service - how to calculate "forever" is 10, 100, 1000, 1000000 years?
Maybe it's just enough to connect auto payment from an account with a small amount?
Or your "forever" is associated with savings - so that the cost of a domain per year turns out to be a penny.

International domains can be renewed up to 10 years, but no more.
Each zone has its own rules. For example, national .RU and .РФ can be extended for a maximum of 1 year.

1. A domain name is not a product, but a service. It cannot be redeemed for life, you need to pay the cost of the service for a year (several years).
2. It is rare that a registrar offers the opportunity to pay for longer than 1 year - do not forget about inflation. It happens, of course, for 2 and 5 years, but longer?
