If you've been using windows all your life, you'll likely uninstall Linux in a couple of weeks or less. If you need Linux console utilities, then there are minGW and similar sets.
Start with Linux. I literally.
Download any distribution (for example ubuntu ). Put it on your computer and force yourself not to delete it for two weeks.
And then voila! You are a Linux user!
Forget books. There is little sense in them. Use forums and built-in manuals.

Just start using and google the questions as they come up.
Of course, it will be more difficult than in Windows due to constant jambs in distributions, but not much more difficult.
Install ubuntu, use it, customize it for yourself, solve problems, satisfy wishes, google. You can read a book. Some kind of "ubuntu basics" from the nearest bookstore. Then solve all the tasks through the console, and then experiment with some kind of gent.
