How to automatically backup the configuration of D-Link switches?

The essence of the problem: there are many switches with telnet access. It is required to merge configurations on the tftp-server according to the schedule. There are no regular tools in the switches, therefore, you need something that should be able to:
- check the availability of the switch (ping), if the switch responds, then
- go to the switch
- execute the backup command
- logout
- ping the next switch, repeat the procedure
And now the question is - what software can perform such operations? From what side is it better to approach the solution of the problem?

I assume bash script can:
1. Create a list of equipment addresses, drive it into for;
2. In a cycle, you make a connection with the device;
3. Further, after a walk, I found the expect command , which allows you to interact interactively, make a backup and unload.
4. ....
5. PROFIT!)
