How to make a Windows configuration backup?
Hello.
Prehistory
Over the years of using Vends, I had to experience all sorts of errors and failures. Historically, backup management is not my forte, and it was easier for me to roll up a clean system with the past software (fortunately, I almost don't have multi-gigabyte software). In general, the recovery took only 3-4 hours, and this is in parallel mode: while one is being installed, you are doing another.
Unfortunately, it turned out that I did not fully remember the previous configuration, which affected at an unnecessary moment.
Question.
Tell me a way how to make a backup of the system configuration (Windows 10).

You can do it with standard tools, or
from paid Acronis True Image
from free AOMEI Backupper Standard
In most cases, I use regular tools. Starting with Windows 7 they are on top.
It's fast and convenient, and you don't have to buy anything.
You make an image of the system disk, set up a scheduled backup, and in case of any failure, you roll back to the desired date in a minute.
If everything is gone and the computer does not boot at all, boot from the installation disk, and again, in a couple of minutes, roll back the system and data to the desired date.
saving the existing configuration is a rather non-trivial task.
It's easier for you to write it again - for already installed products.
Firstly:
You can use the Window package manager and the chocolatey repository in it to install the software with a script.
Want more perversions - look towards Powershell DSC. You write the configuration once, run it and dsc brings the system into the state you need.
However, you should not discount the options that were offered to you above: the "golden image"
You installed, configured, removed the image and, in which case, you roll back to it.
