How to auto-adjust the backlight of an external monitor (LG 27UD88) on a MacBook Pro using the laptop's ambient light sensor?

There is an LG 27UD88 monitor, there is a MacBook Pro 13 2017. The monitor is connected to the laptop via USB-C. From LG there is an application that allows you to adjust the brightness from it without going into the monitor menu. The question arises, is it possible to somehow automatically adjust the backlight of the monitor, using the MacBook's light sensor as a source of illumination data?
