How to arrange content in a vertical menu?

Good afternoon.
What is the best way to arrange content if there is a vertical menu on the left?
The menu width is 300px.
The content itself is mostly text.
Position everything in the middle of the page at a width of 940px or position it right after the menu with an indent?
Who solves problems in the layout of a site with a vertical menu?

And on mobile devices with a width of 400px, what will you do?
Are you making a site for a certain screen size, all who are with others in the garden?
There are usually no problems when the layout is fluid, and not tied to pixels. On some displays, you generally hide it, for example, make it move to the left. But without seeing the design or prototype, it's hard to advise. It all depends on a bunch of other elements on the page though. Read about ui/ux
