How to adjust mouse pointer speed in Ubuntu 17?

Hello. Updated Ubuntu today from 16.10 to 17.04 and there was a problem with the mouse speed (very high). There is still an adjustment in the settings, but no matter how you twist it, it does not seem to work. I googled - I tried it through xinput, but Accel Speed \u003d 0 there, but there is no more something else related to speed. In general, nothing happens, and it is impossible to work with such a mouse speed.
And I’ll immediately ask one more question: I watched the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0SFVB05L1s so what kind of interface does it have? Everything is the same for me after the update. As far as I understand, this is Unity 8. If so, is it worth updating it (very pleasing to the eye) or is it even more buggy?
PS I've only been on Ubuntu for a couple of months, so don't hit me with sticks if the questions are completely stupid.
Thanks in advance.
UPD: it turns out that you can specify negative values for Accel Speed, so I figured out the speed =). The second question remains relevant.
