How to adjust monitor resolution in Ubuntu via VirtualBox?

I installed VirtualBox, I rolled ubuntu 14 there, I connected the disk image of the guest OS, he installed these guest additions, everything was successful, but in the "screen settings" only 800x640. Has anyone come across such a thing? Why is it not ported from guest additions? VirtualBox version 4.3.12
