How to add tests to a CMake project in Visual Studio?

I'm working with a CMake project in Visual Studio (using MinGW, no SLN solution file).
There was a need to cover the project with tests, I want to use the integrated testing system in VS.
How to set it up? Adding a second project for tests seems like the most reasonable option, but it doesn't seem to work in CMake project mode.
