How to add ppa repo to lmde3?

Hello!
I use Linux Mint Debian Edition 3. I came across the fact that it is problematic to add ppa ubuntu repositories to lmde3...
For example, you need to update firefox developer edition via ppa so that you don't have to download the tarball every time.
Instructions for installing fox from ppa - https://askubuntu.com/questions/548003/how-do-i-in...

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-daily/firefox-aurora
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

After the first line, an error is displayed:
Adding a PPA is not supported

LMDE is a hybrid, an alternate airfield for the Mintoites in case Ubuntu is inconvenient to work with. LMDE uses the Debian package base, and Debian strongly discourages the use of PPAs. And therefore, either use LMDE or Debian turnips. LMDE is like Debian Stretch.
My advice to you: use a normal distribution, the same Mint, if you really want it so much, but pure, and not a fake in the form of LMDE.
