How to add hint to select?

I'm using the ng-select plugin to add a dropdown list to a page.

When the user enters abracadabra in the select field, the message "No item found" is displayed. Please help me change the text of this message to another one.
My failed attempt was to add the attribute
notFoundMsg="MY CUSTOM MESSAGE"

Do a search for the default value on the documentation page - you will see how the parameter you need is actually called.
