How to add DE select item to DM?

I asked a question not so long ago: Does such software exist for linux?
The solution was found, but "the sediment remained", and since there are no more comments on that my question, and it would be more correct to ask the current one in a separate question, subject:
how to overcome the absence of Xfce in the selection window \ how to make it so that when I enter a login \ password I get to the desktop of the machine?
PS who is too lazy to poke into the previous question: there is centos7 with xrdp and xfce - when connecting, xrdp does not offer any GUI, so nothing happens after entering the login / password

xrdp starts a "session" - you need to correctly write xrdpX11 to start Xfce in its (Xrdp) config.
Well, or if VNC is suitable - a VNC session, respectively.

Install gdm, as ancient as the world, from the gnome at about 2.18, where the choice of DE worked like clockwork (for fun, I set GNOME / Xfce / KDE / IceWM at the same time, the menu was long, but working). Like autologin by timer, a bunch of plugins, themes. Then, starting with gdm3, it was nailed down.
This answer is more of a joke, although the share of a joke in it is not 100%. Look for alternative desktop managers, for sure there is a choice of sessions somewhere. Well, xfce-session must be in the system.
