How to add an image to the body of an email?

In the mail template, I add images for the letter that the user receives after sending the order.
As a result, the image is not displayed in the letter.
Tried:

1. Paste as a background image to a div
   
2. Paste through the editor with the path to the image (absolute)
   
3. Append in Base64 format
   

The image is not in the letter, although it is displayed in the template. What else could be the option to add an image?
