How to add a swap partition after installing Kubuntu 14.04?

The situation is as follows:
Put Kubuntu 14.04 LTS on the laptop;
HDD did not break manually, but gave it to the default to be eaten;
"Asked" to encrypt the entire disk after installing the system;
Later I noticed that the swap partition is not present in the system;
Question: How can I add it to the system now with minimal losses?! Is it possible to simply add a partition without reinstalling?!

You can just make a swap file. It is customary to use a separate partition historically, but there is no difference in performance on modern hardware.

maybe .. if there is a partition, you need to format it and add it to /etc/fstab. If not, you can create a file .. and again register in the fstab help.ubuntu.ru/wiki/swap
PS sometimes you can do without it .. and without encryption

Maybe a little off topic, see zram en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZRam
In Ubuntu, just sudo apt-get install zram-config
