How to access files in the Users folder on a USB HDD on another Windows 10 Home PC?

My son's old PC died. SATA system disk (Win10 Home, NTFS), on it, respectively, its profiles on C:\Users\. I gave my tablet Core I3 win10 Home. When connecting this drive in a USB box to a new PC, unexpectedly for me, entering the Documents and Settings folder of this very USB drive began to lead to a transition to the directory with the profiles of the new PC. And the Users folder on the USB HDD has disappeared somewhere. At the same time, it was definitely possible to enter it once.

Is it possible to somehow return the folder with profiles and their files on the external disk that has become?

There is also a Raspberry PI with Debian, where the disk is mounted without problems, but the Users folder is simply not visible, as if it does not exist. There is Documents and Settings, but it's of no use - it's a shortcut.

The first is not to use the explorer, it replaces everything related to the Users folder and creates other problems (for example, with symbolic links), I advise you to use applications such as Far Commander or Total Commander (windows commander)
When you go to the disk (at least profile files) by by default, access rights will not be enough, for example, Far Commander will offer to increase (once or for the entire time Far is running) the current rights by displaying a UAC window (administrative rights request) and will allow you to work with files as usual, but this will not be enough to open a file in a third-party application.
Therefore access rights can be added, even in the explorer, in the properties of this disk, the security tab (if it is not there, then it must be enabled in the explorer settings).

And you yourself did not nail this folder there somehow by accident? I ask, because in a normal situation there are no problems with the visibility of this folder.
Checked right now. I took a hdd taken from one laptop, connected it via a USB adapter to my computer. In the usual explorer (in vain rPman rolls a barrel on it), even without displaying hidden and system files, the folder with user profiles on the external drive is quite visible. In Russian-language Windows, it is displayed as "Users". It shows at least two profiles - "General" and the profile of a specific user of that laptop.
Here, when you try to enter the user's folder, it warns you about a lack of rights, and if the request is answered positively, it sets the necessary rights (the process may take a noticeable amount of time). Everything.
So, if the folder is not in the list, I'm afraid that it is already completely gone. Turn on of course, just in case, the display of hidden files, if it is not enabled, but it is unlikely to help.

Colleagues, thank you. Both tips are actually sound and logical. But it didn't work out that way. Banal right click on the disk and start the standard check. As always, in the spirit of Windows, it did not work informatively and said that it had fixed the errors. As a result, the Users folder appeared on the external drive. Thank you all for your participation.
