Oh. Thanks Maxim for the call.
I have been developing games and applications on the Corona SDK and Lua for several years now. I can say with confidence that the instruments are quite serious. You can make 2D games of almost any kind. It just depends on your skill. Over time, the crown is becoming more and more serious, recently they introduced support for shaders, and now they are sawing support for desktops, that is, it will be possible to make games for both mobile phones and steam.
Definitely worth continuing to explore. If you have any questions - welcome to the corona IRC channel on freenode - #corona. If English is not important, come to cocoadevelopers.club in #gamedev

The lua language is one of the main languages in game development; the player logic of many games, including those from Blizzard, is written on it.
But Corona SDK seems to me a solution for amateur games, and not a professional tool.
In the free version, you can't even use native libraries.

The Lua language is very serious. I love him.
Corona SDK - I will not say anything good.

I can recommend another bundle of lua and cocos2d-x ( cocos2d-x.org )
You can develop in javascript, lua and c ++ with a single cross-platform engine functionality.
