How safe is Mac OS X - viruses and information leakage?

I sat on Linux for 5 years, but now I have gone to Mac OS X. I didn’t install any antiviruses or anything else, because there was no point at all - all the software is from the repository or in a virtual machine, the browser cuts everything superfluous, etc.
And here sometimes you have to merge something from the torrent and install (software). In Win XP, I remember that at one time a Trojan sat in every second keygen. How big is the danger of snatching something under the poppy?

The main thing - try not to miss the security update, they do not release them in vain.

You can install Dr.Web, it's not expensive. There is not much practical help, but it will add confidence.
