How reliable are PPTP and L2TP VPN protocols?

Hello. Interested in the question of how reliable VPN protocols PPTP and L2TP are? Is it possible to get the ip address of a client connected to a VPN server? And if the client WAS connected via VPN, is it possible to get the client's ip after some time when it is already disconnected WITHOUT LOGS of this VPN server? Please explain for each of these protocols.

It's unclear. Who to get, how to get, where to get. You, damn it, first describe the attack scenario normally and indicate the model of the intruder - who is trying to get it? The state has logs, always if the server is physically in the RF (it is, JFYI)

I mean that there is no access to the logs. And is it possible to get the real ip of the client connected to the server. Or the second situation is when he has already disconnected and then find out his real ip. Using vulnerabilities or perhaps brute force .. or something else. It doesn't matter who's trying to get - just someone else. By any means.
