How relevant will a self-written hosting control panel be?
Hello. I would like to know how realistic it is to promote your hosting control panel in 2017, and does anyone need it at all? We plan to write the panel in PHP.

Relevant. The existing panels do not suit me. They are all kind of one-sided - the same type.
But it is unlikely that you will be able to solve my problems.
1. Support for Linux/FreeBSD
2. Isolation of websites in containers.
3. Traffic tracking, firewall isolation of individual sites. For example, to prevent spamming from inside the site.
4. Easy backup, upgrade, moving to another server.
I am a freelancer maintaining a bunch of client sites.
If you write alone, I doubt very much that you will get something competitive against the background of existing options. Well, in general, yes, a good, modern panel will always be in demand, your cap ;)
Relevant. ISP made everything paid - updates, support and became expensive. Plesk is still unable to establish a sales model in Russia for legal entities. Open Source, then appear, then disappear. But ... the approach should be serious, just like that, on the knee, such a product will not be released anymore. I think we need an investor from the hosting industry.
