How relevant is infinite scroll now?
In connection with the development of one information resource, the question arose: how much infinite scroll is needed on a page containing a motley feed (photos, videos and articles), or the usual pagination is enough. Once I came across an article describing the disadvantages of scrolling, but now most argue that it is necessary.

Severe IMHO - if an endless scroll is like in VK for example (without a button, automatically pulls content through ajax), then when sensitive / important information is located in the footer, the user will not get there without shamanism.
If infinity is meant as a "button", when clicked, content is loaded into the feed, then it's normal. Mobile users will thank you.
In addition, nothing prevents you from putting the "load more" button and putting a pagination below.
Do it like on Yandex.Market: they have it combined.
This is convenient, because sometimes I want to scroll and read reviews, and sometimes I know that the review I need is on page 3 or 4 and purposefully go there.
Also, sometimes you need to look at the information in the footer of the site, but because of the endless scrolling, you can’t do this - you just don’t have time.
