How old is Swing?

Question for practicing Java programmers.
How stupid is it to write new programs using Swing these days? JavaFX - completely replaced it or is there any point in continuing to use Swing?

Swing, although outdated, is the most alive, and purely for general development, it is worth knowing it, at least at a basic level. He is more alive than all the living because of the many Legacy software. New software, if you really want to write in Java, it is better to develop in JavaFX, it is not even bad.
