How much time to ask the employer for the development of docker?

Good day everyone. The situation is this - I am conducting a dialogue with the employer regarding the position of a front-end developer. They work with the docker, I did not have to come into contact with it. They put forward conditions according to which I am given one day to install a unix-like OS and deploy the necessary containers to get started. It seems to me, as a person who has not worked with the docker, that this is not a topic that can be sorted out in a day. Colleagues, am I wrong? Do you need to ask for more time to get familiar with the technology, or is it really easy to get started? Thank you.

If you get kicked out because linux and docker were installed for a long time, even good. Run from such employers. If you do not have time, just write - you need more time. If you spend more than a week on this, it's not scary

So do the experience.
Put some kind of Linux in your virtual machine, docker there and deploy some project from github in the docker.
