How much RAM can be installed on an Acer Aspire 5?
I have a laptop Aspire 5 A517-51G
Processor Intel Core i3-6006U
I want to increase the RAM, now it costs DDR4, 4gb (as I understand it, soldered)
I wrote to Acer technical support - instead of a specific answer, what is the maximum amount you can put, they threw off the list tested RAM, from 2 to 16GB.
Actually, the question itself is whether it is possible to put 8GB so that it is 4 + 8?
On the laptop, under a special cover, there is a connector for only one die, native, as I wrote earlier, apparently soldered.

I understand that 8GB can definitely be installed. And yes, 4GB of this model is soldered on the board.
Read here: https://raywoodcockslatest.wordpress.com/2018/03/2... . You can also add an M.2 SSD there.
In general, I installed this - CORSAIR CMSO8GX4M1A2133C15 DDR4 - 8GB, 2133MHz
It is very strange that 1 die.
According to the description of your laptop.
RAM
Type of RAM DDR4
Frequency of RAM 2133 MHz
Size of RAM 6 GB
Number of slots for memory modules 2
But even if this is not the case, you can install 8GB there. I did this in many laptops, see that the frequency is the same in terms of characteristics.
