How much free disk space is required for normal system operation?

Greetings.
Heard that it is impossible that the disk was occupied completely. There must be some free space.
How much of this free space in percent should be left on the disk in the case of linux + ext4?

What is the interest here? It is necessary that the files that the system generates on its own do not run out of free space. And no one can predict for you what will work for you and how.
With sufficiently crooked hands, even a free terabyte can gobble up the logs of literally one program.

For hard drives, about 10% for ssd, about 20% is desirable. But this is all true for systems that keep records. In theory, Linux reserves 10% for root and users will not be able to record more. Ruth can, then the actual question to the database. They know how to allocate space on their own inside their files. In general, specify what you need.
