How much does HTTPS increase the load on the Apache server?

I do not dare to switch to HTTPS. Browsers and search engines promise to degrade insecure sites over time. But how much will the load on the server increase? Are there any statistics on this issue? I have VDS KVM with Apache server. No nginx and special optimizations.

Actually, I don't know if it's worth it. I have a regular site with articles and a forum. Users can register with just a username and email, then leave messages on the forum and comments on articles. There are no payments.

I have a site with a load of about 2 million people a day, nothing has changed after the transition.

And what prevents you from proxying statics to nginx?
I think the site will hold up. Depends on the amount of memory. And if it fails, you can make a certificate through Cloudflare.

it doesn't increase by much to think about it.
