How much do you sleep and how much minimum can you sleep?
A normal person is recommended to sleep 7-8 hours. But, when you really like the web, there is a lot of work and you are very passionate about it, you don’t want to sleep at all. I sleep an average of 7 hours a day, maybe less, but I don’t know yet how much this will affect my health. How much do you sleep? What is your sleep and work schedule?
UPD thanks to everyone for the replies. In general, having understood everything, I realized that sleep is very important, namely, you need to create a certain regimen for yourself and stick to it. For example, I made it like this: at 24:00 - lights out, at 07:00 - rise, even on weekends. In general, you need to focus more on productivity, you can be distracted all day long and drink coffee, or you can save precious 1-3 hours on this!

A little to the side. In a few years, if you are a programmer, you will start going to the gym (everyone starts, sedentary work, osteochondrosis, styloiditis, the ass is growing again), well, the salaries are appropriate, a good fitness club is not a problem. And since you are a programmer, you will read a lot about how and what to do, what to eat and how much to sleep. And it turns out that you need to sleep - 8 hours :)
In the meantime - how much you sleep, sleep so much, everything is ahead of you :)
Check out a very helpful TED Talk on the subject: www.ted.com/talks/russell_foster_why_do_we_sleep
Excellent, informative article on sleep: The basic paradox of the sleep state and its experiment...
Differently. Very differently.
I can't sleep for two days. Contract. There were three. The truth is hard - three days. Yes, and they most likely never happened, 60 hours can be a maximum. Then I sleep off, but I can sleep for 10 hours, I can sleep for a day. And strangely, I also sleep differently. Sometimes I get 10 hours of sleep, sometimes I don’t sleep in a day, sometimes it’s the other way around. But then you still can't sleep.
Well, in general, according to my observations, polyphasic sleep really helps a lot. If you sleep several times a day, then you can improvise the general sensations. At the same time, you can spend less on basic sleep.
There are, by the way, a couple of life hacks, which for some reason few people write about. Firstly, if you need to stay awake for a long time - squat, pull yourself up, do push-ups. Helps a lot. Also green tea. Lots of green tea. First, it has a lot of caffeine. And also - all kinds of acids. It invigorates and calms at the same time. Just what the doctor ordered.
Then, when you need to sleep longer, but there are only 2-3 hours, you can go to bed, set an alarm 30 minutes before X hour and postpone it for 10 minutes (most alarm clocks have such a function). This makes it easier to wake up and sleep a little better. True, one must not set foot and not accidentally turn it off, an alarm clock.
And last but not least, you need to sleep. Sleep deprivation is very annoying. Believe me.
4 - 6 hours, but often there is regret why the day is not 48 hours. Time is sorely lacking
If you have your own schedule, sleep as much as you want and how you want, a sedentary lifestyle affects health more
I don’t remember where I read that the central nervous system rests only from 22-00 to 24-00, so it is critically important to sleep at this time.
I made it a rule not to go to bed later than 22-00. I sleep 7 hours, that is, I get up at 05-00 + a healthy lifestyle, I feel great and rarely get sick.
You need to sleep as much as necessary. In my student years, I slept 4 hours at the session (2 times a day for 2 hours) a day, in principle, even more or less invigorating, but this is a regime for wear and tear.
You can try to get up WITHOUT an alarm clock, this will be the time you need to sleep))
From 6 to 8 hours, I go to bed in different ways, I try to get up as early as possible
I try to go to bed at 11, wake up at 8-9 without an alarm clock. Enough to relax after a hard day's work and a hard workout.
interesting thread. When I played cards, I once lived in the mode of not sleeping for a day, I get enough sleep for a day - terrible crap). It seems to me important to understand when your energy level is such that you can solve unpleasant tasks. And try to build a day so that you decide all the work during this period. But sleep is 100% energy. As well as food and sports.
I don’t know how people sleep for 6 hours or less, I need to sleep at least 12 hours in order to get enough sleep. And in order to fall asleep, you need to actively spend a day of 18 hours. Days are so short ...
Last week before the weekend I slept for 3-4 hours. I went to bed at 9 and woke up at 12 or at one in the morning. And eat an hour at lunch. It's not pleasant, and it turns back from work. Over the weekend, I quit this business and slept normally from 22.00 to 7.00, now I’m working at full capacity again. and full of energy. So I recommend sleeping normally, as they taught in kindergarten. =)
For about 5 years, my standard sleep is 6 hours. The body is used to it, there is no drowsiness, there is enough strength. It happens, of course, and you have to sleep for 4 - in this case, a couple of cups of coffee in the morning are necessary. On weekends, I also follow this regimen: if I sleep more than 6 hours, I feel overwhelmed
Sleep in general today is practically not studied, very little is known. Based on what, I would recommend approaching any experiment in this area very carefully.
Here is an interesting popular science material about the "theory of visceral sleep", with the sounding of the results of experiments : polit.ru/article/2014/05/04/pigarev that during sleep deprivation, it is not the brain that suffers first, but the internal organs.
